A BELEAGUERED town council project to replace public conveniences in Wellington will not now be completed until the middle of August.
Town councillors have been told the new toilet building, which is of a modular, or prefabricated, design, will be delivered on site in Longforth Road on the back of a lorry on Sunday, July 26.
But, council chief executive Dave Farrow said there would then be ‘subsequent groundwork and testing’ to be carried out.
Mr Farrow said if all went to plan, the £220,000 block would be ‘operational by mid-August’.
It means the new toilets would be finally in use just four months ahead of the four-year anniversary of the car crash which caused structural damage to the building three days before Christmas, 2022.
