HOLCOMBE Court, rated by architectural and art historian Sir Nikolaus Pevsner as ‘perhaps the finest Tudor house in Devon’, is the venue for Holcombe Rogus village fete on Saturday, July 13.

The mansion (pictured) is rarely open to the public but fete-goers visit year after year to explore the restored gardens with lawns, fishponds, modern Victorian rock garden, herbaceous borders and walled formal modern vegetable garden with yew hedges and fruit.

The fete, which runs from 2.30 to about 4.30pm, is on the property’s lawns and features stalls of all sorts, games for children, ‘Jim’s Pimms’ tent and superb teas, all with Tiverton Town Band playing in the background.
