THE Wellington branch of the Royal British Legion are looking for a new standard bearer who is able to support the branch on formal occasions.

Standard bearers form an essential part of remembrance events in Wellington such as the Remembrance Parade, the Armistice Day two-minute silence, the Dedication of the Field of Remembrance.

No experience is necessary for the role as training will be provided.

A spokesperson for the RBL Wellington Branch said: “This is an important role specially come remembrance time, and you must have availability too if there are funerals as well.”

The branch is also hosting their Annual General Meeting Thursday, September 17 at Wellington Baptist Church from 7.30 pm.
