A 32-year-old man from Wellington has pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a 14-year-old girl.
Michael Hale, whose address was given as the Wellesley Hospital, Chelston, admitted attempting to communicate with the child between April 14 and 20 last year for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification.
Hale appeared in Taunton Crown Court on February 5 where a 10-year sexual harm prevention order was imposed and he was made subject to an order to report to police in Taunton for the next five years.
He was also fined £400 and banned from using any device capable of accessing the internet unless he has permission from a police officer.
Hale was also forbidden to have unsupervised contact with female children.
