AN ARMED Forces Day commemoration is set to take place in Wellington with the help of local primary school pupils.

The annual celebration, which takes place on the last Saturday of June, shows support for the men and women who make up the country's forces, including serving troops, veterans, cadets and their families.

On Saturday, June 28, the Wellington branch of the Somerset Royal British Legion will be hosting a service in Wellington Park at 10am, when the head boy and head girl of the Rockwell Green C of E Primary school will be scattering the ashes of the remembrance crosses.

A Somerset county event will take place at Vivary Park in Taunton, on July 5.
