A WIVELISCOMBE school has taken on the blazing June heat to host its own “mini Glastonbury”.
Kingsmead School’s ‘Somer of Sound’ took place on June 27, welcoming more than 350 staff, students and family members to enjoy a range of music from 25 acts on school grounds.
Other highlights include food by the Little Red Fire Truck, ice creams and sweets, festival "tattoos", a DJ set and dance off competition.
The school’s PTA ran a very busy bar which raised funds for the school and more than £1,000 was collected via ticket sales and a raffle for Wiveliscombe Pool.
One of the organisers, music teacher Caroline Banks said: “It's been part of our community or nearly 100 years and we hope it can be here for 100 more.”
