A YOUTH and community support project will be opening a café in Wellington’s new community centre this July.
Invited by the Wellington Town Council, Bold & Brave are set to open their new café in the recently renovated High Street venue, The King’s Arms.
There will be a summer soft launch this year, inviting feedback from young people to shape the service before its full opening in September.

Run by Young Somerset, Bold & Brave endeavours to bring together young people and the local community.
At its flagship Taunton shop and café sites, Bold & Brave has provided a supportive space for young people to gain real-world hospitality experience, with more than 12 young people moving on to meaningful employment since their opening in June 2023.
Currently, the project supports 10 young people who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) across the two sites — the café in Taunton Library and the shop in the Independent Quarter.
A spokesperson for Young Somerset said: “We’re very excited to be part of the Kings Arms Development in Wellington, it’s been great to work with Wellington Town Council to bring the Bold and Brave café to the space. This will enable us to extend our Supported Employment Services to the area to offer opportunities to young people who may face barriers to employment.

“As with our current Bold and Brave café in Taunton Library, we hope to serve a menu that suits a range of tastes and dietary needs and also affordable to people on a budget, but we do intend to do some research/taste sessions before we open to develop a menu that the community in Wellington would like to see.”
Dates for the soft and official openings of the King’s Arms community centre are yet to be confirmed.
