THE popular 10k Wellington Monument Race is set to make a return on Sunday, December 14, with the event set to get underway at ten am. Runners will start at the Catherine Wheel in Hemyock’s village square before tackling the challenging, but scenic, climb to the iconic Wellington Monument.

After circling the landmark, competitors will race back along the same route to finish at Hemyock Primary School.

Organised entirely by volunteers, the event is a not-for-profit race, with all proceeds going to Taunton Athletic Club, a registered charity dedicated to supporting athletes of all ages through coaching, training, and development programmes.

There are prizes for category winners and plenty of refreshments for participants and those cheering them on; and, for the first year, every race finisher will receive a fantastic medal for their efforts!
