WELLINGTON A have slipped down to fourth place in Division One of the Taunton Saturday Football League after losing 5-1 against Norton Fitzwarren on the 3G pitch at The Castle Sport Centre in Taunton.

Jordan Sellick put Wellington ahead in the first half but Norton stormed back, scoring four goals in the second half.

"We were without three or four players but that's no excuse," said Wellington's joint manager Warren Toth afterwards. "It was simply a bad day at the office. We didn't turn up.

It was only their fourth defeat of the season and they still have games in hand on the three teams above them.

In fact they can still finish top of the division if they win their two remaining games, the first being away to Wellington Road Dons at Fivehead on Saturday. Four points, in fact, will be enough.

Their final game of the season is on Saturday week when they play Middlezoy Rovers Athletic - again on the 3G pitch at the Castle Sports Centre.

Bridgwater Wolves top the table with 39 points, having played all their games. Nether Stowey are a point behind and they, too, have completed their fixtures.

Galmington could also join Wolves at the top if they win their last match.
