THREE teams of ladies from Wellington Bowling Club played away to Yeovil - and returned home with a well deserved victory by 24 shots.

Janet Moore was particularly pleased because it was the first time she had been captain of the day and winning an away match against a big club like Yeovil is only to be congratulated.

Janet Moore, Janet Lovell and Shirley Samuel were 11 - 14 down with four ends to play but they bowled very well to overtake and win it 18 – 15.

Wendy Scott, June Anderson and Christine Willcocks were on top form. Their opponents had to fight hard to win any shots and the Wellington trio came through by 31 – 9.

Debbie Lane, Pauline Wadham and Gill Groves led early on but their opponents caught up and pinched it on the line 18 – 17.

However, the end result was an excellent victory to Wellington by 66 – 42.
