THE finals of Wellington Bowling Club’s  singles competitions have now taken place. In the Ladies final new player Lynda Manning started well but Di Dagg came back in the middle of the match to level things. However Lynda was too good at the end and took the match 21-14.

The men’s competition was once again won by Nick Channon although he had to work hard for it. His semi-final against Mike Connor saw them tying after the two hours were up so an extra end had to be played which Nick took.

In the final Nick was up against Rod Troake. Rod was 12-6 up after 11 ends but Nick came back to take it 21-18 after a close match.

In the men’s League there were wins for Newbees over Hasbeens, Wellington 1 against Hemyock and Old Codgers over Bowlsheviks. The match between Upstarts and Wellington 2 was decided by one point with Upstarts taking it 14-13. Cavaliers and Wellington 4 drew 15 all.
