ROCKWELL Green Shortmat Bowls Club made an early morning trip to Corfe for a 4-mat friendly - and returned with a 33-25 victory following an enjoyable game.

When things got underway (Green names first ) Dave, Reg & John Y were blown away by Joan, Rob & Michael who only allowed the Green trio to score a single shot on 3 ends of the 10 resulting in a home win 11--3.

Next to play Graham, Bill & Mike R met Alan, Liz & Dave K. The Green went into a 6--1 lead after 5 ends but the home trio fought back to level the scores at 6 all after 8 ends. The Green did manage to take the last 2 ends by a single shot on each end which gave the visitors a narrow victory 8--6.

The players then took an extended break for tea/coffee kindly prepared by the Corfe Ladies & enjoyed more chat, leg pulling and a raffle. At that point Corfe held a 17--11 lead.

The restart saw Graham, Bill & Mike R matched with Alan G, June & Rob. The Green trio showed no mercy, only allowing the Corfe trio to score on 2 ends and won by 13--2.

Last to play Dave, Reg & John Y made a better fist of things when they played Sheila, Chris & Michael. They went into a 5--1 lead after 4 ends but the Corfe trio pegged them back to level after 7 ends at 5 all. The Green trio scored a 3 on end 8 & the last two ends were shared at one shot apiece leaving the Green winners by 9--6.

It was a very entertaining morning for which Mike said a rather big thank you. As said before, overall scores do not really but it was a good win for the Green.
