SIXTEEN members of Rockwell Green Shortmat Bowls Club took part in the early rounds of the club’s pairs competition on Thursday, August 27, which is being played over two rounds The eight first round games were played on a 45 minute time restriction. Some of the games were very tight affairs while others proved to be rather one sided.

At the end of the afternoon, when the final count was made, those going forward to the semi-finals were: Claire Greenaway and Mike Russell who will play Robert Picken and John Stevens in the first semi-final. The second semi-final is between John Young and Syd Howell against Bill Kingdom and Graham Hill. These matches are to be played on Thursday, September 10 at 2.30pm.

The final will commence at 5.00 pm after the conclusion of the semi-finals. In what look like intriguing semi-finals, the club requests all members to attend and give the players their full support.
