WELLINGTON Bowling Club have held their Annual Presentation Evening in their clubhouse.

The winners of both indoor and outdoor competitions were presented with their trophies and each winner and runner up received a certificate.

Winners of the indoor leagues were also presented with trophies for their achievements.

The meeting was well attended by members and friends of the club despite the wet and very windy weather. Everyone was given a free drink from the bar to show the club's appreciation for all those who managed to attend the event.

President Mike Groves has encouraged the club to raise money for his chosen charity the Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital. He was more than pleased to present a cheque for £2,188.88 to Rachael Szaruta, the representative of “Love Musgrove”.

Rachael thanked everyone for their efforts in raising such a substantial amount of money and said how much it was appreciated by the Beacon Centre and Musgrove Hospital. She went on to say how the money will best be spent in order to provide the very best treatment for cancer sufferers. The Beacon Centre will do everything in their power to offer the very best treatment to patients who are in need.

Debbie Lane presented the indoor competition winners with their trophies on behalf of indoor bowls sponsors, Beauchamp House Care Home, near Hatch Beauchamp, who have supported the club so well.

Mike Groves has been president at the club now for two years and has been ably supported by vice president Diana Dagg who will take over the position of president after the November A.G.M.

Everyone at the club would like to thank the competitions secretary Janet Moore for all her work during the year to make this even possible and for arranging and running the presentation evening.
