WELLINGTON C have gained a fine win against Burnham on Sea C on their home green in the West Somerset Bowls League, winning two games and drawing the third.

David Harrison, Kevin Austin and Shirley Samuel's team were chasing the game early on but after 12 ends the sides were level on eight shots each. However the Wellington threesome pulled away for a well deserved victory by 17 shots to 9.

Andrew Copping, Phil Wiggan and Alan Samuel were involved in a very tight game. With one end to play they led 18 – 17 but their opponents managed one shot in the last to draw the game 18 – 18.

On the last rink Jane Hayes, Alan Every and Andrew Baird played exceptionally well and won their game 27 – 18.

When all three games were over, the Wellington teams celebrated an overall victory by 59 shots to 45.
