THE Ladies of Wellington Bowling Club are out of the Fear Cup, the Somerset Inter-club competition, after finding it difficult to adjust to the away green at Minehead in their quarter-final tie.
Wendy Scott, Di Dagg, Shirley Samuel and skip Christine Willcocks struggled to find the line on rink one. Whenever they did their opponents seemed to manage to come in to take the shot and win the end. Therefore, they lost their game.
On the next rink, Janet Lovell, Liz May, Angie Moore and skip Lynda Manning, didn’t fair any better and they too lost.
However on the final rink Lisa Dart, Ann Cowling, Monica Carter and Gill Groves started slowly but played really well and came away with a good win 22 shots to 12.
Despite this, Minehead ladies celebrated a good overall victory and will contest the semi-final at Clevedon which promises to be a tough game for both teams.
