WELLINGTON Bowling Club welcomed three teams from Exonia Bowling Club in a Mixed Triples friendly at the weekend - and following some good bowling by both clubs eventually went down by 16 shots.
Wellington's bowlers knew it would be difficult to win against the well established club from Exeter.
But Geoff Stamp, Tracey Richbell and skip Ken Brown had a really good game. They put up a great fight and won by two shots 22 – 20.
Stuart Pike, Diana Dagg and skip Tony Gibson found themselves 16 – 5 down at the halfway point and although they came back strongly they lost in the end 16 - 25
Tony was particularly pleased with the good bowling of Stuart Pike, a new member at the Wellington club and playing his first match.
David Dagg, Liz May and Henry Richbell did all they could but lost 18 – 9, so Exonia were the winners overall by 63 shots to 47.
