ASHBRITTLE will be chasing the season’s double over Watchet when the sides play each other in the first division of the West Somerset Cricket League at the Memorial Ground on Saturday, August 22.

Ashbrittle gained a convincing 134-run home victory over the seasiders when they played each other in June.

The home side scored 306-5 with Luke Williams being the star batter, scoring 166 not out with 14 fours and 12 sixes. Watchet’s batters struggled against the bowling of William Barrington (5-45) and Oliver White (4-40).

In other matches in the division, Bridgetown entertain Kilve, Morebath play away to Crowcombe while Over Stowey are home to Bagborough.

In the second division, Stoke St Mary will also be looking to complete the season’s double over Cannington who crashed to a ten-wicket defeat when the sides last met in June.

Cannington were bowled out for 101 with Ben Gray taking 4-2 and Ian Tier 3-39 before openers George Johnson (72 not out) and Rowan Keyte (24 not out) knocked off the runs.
