WELLINGTON will be looking for back to back wins when they play away to Taunton in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League on Saturday, May 16.
Wellington were in ruthless form last weekend when they hammered Temple Cloud by nine wickets at home with Toby Stirzaker snapping up 5-19 as the visitors crashed to 67 all out, while Sri Lankan Lakshan Edirisinghe scored 42 not out.
Taunton, however, suffered their first loss of the season after they slumped to 66 all out in their away game against Wembdon who won by 121 runs.
Wembdon are the early leaders of the division but no side has managed to complete two games because of the previous weekend’s bad weather.
Fixtures, May 16, Somerset Division: Chard v Frome, Ilminster v Temple Cloud, North Perrott v Wembdon, Taunton v Wellington, Yeovil v Bridgwater 2nd XI.
Meanwhile, Wellington 2nd XI play at home to West Monkton and will be looking to bounce back after their mauling by ten wickets away to their Ilminster counterparts last weekend.
Club chairman Mark Salter was the only batter able to make runs against the South Somerset side’s bowling attack, scoring 48 in his side’s 165 all out. Wellington used six bowlers in a bid to part openers Michael McNee (97 not out) and Ryan Sims (50 not out) but without success.

Wellington 3rd XI will be hoping to follow up their 34-run win over Bishops Hull 2nd XI when they play away to Ilminster 4th XI in Division Seven South.
