LOCAL darts star Ryan Searle plays Welshman Jonny Clayton in the first of the quarter-finals in the World Championship at Alexandra Palace, London, tomorrow (Thurs, 12.30p.m).

The event is taking a day off before returning for the quarter-finals on New Year’s Day, with Searle being the only player in the last eight who has yet to drop a set.

His match tomorrow is followed by the game between Gary Anderson who plays Justin Hood.

The other two quarter-final matches take place in the evening with Luke Littler, the reigning champion, playing Krzysztof Ratajski while this is followed by Luke Humphries’ encounter with Gian van Veen.

The quarter-finalists are all guaranteed £100,000 in prizemoney, while the winner of the tournament will take home £1 million, with £400,000 going to the losing finalist.
