LOCAL darts professional Ryan Searle won through to the second round of the 2026 World Series of Darts Finals.

The event takes place in Amsterdam and features the top eight players from the World Series Order of Merit who are joined by a series of Tour Card holder qualifiers, World Series Order of Merit qualifiers and PDC Order of Merit qualifiers.

The tournament is the culmination of this year’s World Series, which has featured events in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Denmark, USA, Australia and New Zealand.

Searle gained a 6-2 win over former world champion Rob Cross in the opening round, hitting four 180s, before losing 10-7 to Josh Rock in the next round.

Shock of the tournament was the first round exit of defending champion Michael van Gerwen who lost 6-5 to Daryl Gurney of Northern Ireland who was drafted in as a late replacement when Lourence Ilagan withdrew from the 32-man field.
