HEMYOCK FC are under way with their pre-season friendlies. Following on from an in-house game among the squad last week, Hemyock played their first competitive fixture last night (Thursday) at home to Tipton St John, while they are again in action tomorrow (Saturday) at home to Chudleigh. These games will enable new manager Sam Iddon to have a good look at what he has on offer ahead of the new season, whenever it may start.

The in-house friendly last week saw, shall we say, some interesting forms of football along with some play, which will give Iddon plenty to be pleased about. The game ended up in a 2-2 draw with Callum Shenton scoring two goals, Charlie Don one and there was also a single strike for Dan Clark.

It is hoped, in the not too distant future, there will be the opportunity to announce some very exciting new signings but nothing will be released until the pen has struck the dotted line!

Several projects are still going on behind the scenes at the club, many of which are heading towards completion. Iddon also attended a parish council meeting last week and secured a donation of £450 to help with the erection of some netting behind the goal at the river end, so that not as many balls end up floating towards Culmstock!
