TIM Legg remains ‘positive’ about the forthcoming football season despite the uncertainty over when it will start because of Covid-19.

The Wellington manager says he has spoken to players from last winter’s squad and to potential new players to strengthen the first team squad.

“The response has been positive,” he said this week. “We don’t have players on contract and so I have to wait until July 1 before I can sign anyone.

“The next step is for the players to report back for pre-season training. I would hope this would be by the end of the month. But we’re governed by Covid-19 guidelines.

“The key is the two-metre contact rule. You cannot play with this still in force. We will do whatever we can, when we can.

“I’m also pleased with the management team we have in place for the first, reserves, As and Under 18s,” said the ex-Taunton and Bridgwater player who will be starting his first full season in charge.
