WELLINGTON continue their build up to the new football season with a home game against Nailsea United on the 3G pitch at Court Fields School on Saturday, July 11 (3p.m.).

Wellington will also be in action next Tuesday, July 14, when they play at Bishops Lydeard (7.30p.m.).

Wellington kicked off the season under new boss Tornado Bello with a 5-0 loss in a friendly away to Elmore which was played at Witheridge.

Wellington fielded an ‘experimental side’ - a mix of new faces with several members of last season’s squad.

All the goals were scored in the first half of a game which was switched from Tiverton to Witheridge because of problems with Elmore’s pitch.

Meanwhile, Wellington have been drawn away to South West Peninsula League Premier East side Ilminster Town in the first qualifying round of the Isuzu FA Vase on Saturday, August 15.

The winners will play away to Jewson League side Street in the second qualifying round on Saturday, September 12.

In the extra preliminary round of the Emirates FA Cup, Wellington have been drawn away to Southern League neighbours Willand Rovers on Saturday, August 8.

The winners will be away to Saltash United or Brixham in the preliminary round on Saturday, August 22.

Wellington are forced to play all early rounds of cup competitions away because the club shares its ground with the local cricket club.

Wellington’s first match in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western League will be away to promoted Bovey Tracey on Saturday, July 25.

It is a tough start to the season for Wellington because Bovey Tracey won Premier East in the South West Peninsula League last season, finishing nine points clear of second placed Bridport, losing only two league matches. Wellington finished in 15th place in the Premier Division of the Jewson League.
