WELLINGTON A gained their first win of the season in Division One of the Centregreat Taunton & District Saturday Football League with a 6-4 victory over Old Inn 98 on the all-weather pitch at Court Fields School. Wellington A came flying out of the blocks and took a commanding 4–1 lead into half-time, with goals from Jordan Sellick, Alfie Hill (2) and Matt Brereton..

The second half was a much more open affair, with Old Inn pushing to get themselves back into the game. A red card for Old Inn gave Wellington the advantage, and the Wellington boys made the extra man count. Hill completed his hat-trick, before Dylan Owens added another to put the result beyond doubt.

Old Inn managed to find the net a few more times, but Wellington held on to secure an entertaining 6–4 victory and gain their first points of the season. Player of the Match: Matt Brereton — an outstanding performance and thoroughly deserved!

Wembdon Reserves are the early leaders of the division after they gained a 7-1 home success over once-mighty Dulverton Town.

They top the table only by virtue of the fact they have played two matches, whereas some sides have played only once.
