Wellington beat Barnstaple Town 2-0 at home in the first round while tomorrow’s opponents won 5-3 away to former Toolstation League outfit Bridport.
"We don’t know a lot about Wootton Bassett," said Wellington’s joint manager Alex Pope this week.
"I know they have a nice ground and pitch and I would expect them to play some good football.
"Obviously it would be nice to have a good run in this competition. We are certainly capable of beating Wootton Bassett."
Wellington expect to be at near full-strength although centre-back Tom Stone will be missing because of suspension for three games, which ends after tomorrow’s tie. There are also doubts over the fitness of former Minehead defender Stefan Phillips and Alex Cherry.
Wellington also have a match next Tuesday when they play away to Bridgwater United in the Les Phillips Cup. The sides have met twice in the league this season with Wellington drawing on both occasions and becoming the first side to take a point off United.
Wellington Reserves, who thrashed East Budleigh 8-1 away in Division One of the Devon and Exeter League last Saturday, have no match tomorrow. They would have been playing at home but cannot because of the first team’s game at the Playing Field.
The break enables new goalkeeper Tom Tyhan more time in which to recover from an injury, having signed recently from Staplegrove.
Hemyock, who top Division Three, are home to ninth-placed Broadclyst tomorrow, having dropped two surprise points in a 3-3 away draw with struggling Halwill last weekend.
Wellington A, beaten 6-1 by North Curry in the Taunton Saturday League KO Cup last Friday, play away to Wyvern United in the Premier Division.
Wellington Ladies are away to Bath City in the first division of the Somerset Women’s League on Sunday while Wellington Wildcats are home to Combe St Nicholas in Division Two (2p.m.).
There is also a full programme of games in the Taunton Saturday, Somerset Sunday and Taunton Youth Leagues.
