WELLINGTON Football Club’s players are reporting back for pre-season training at the Playing Field on three evenings this week.

Wellington A, who will be playing in the first division of the Taunton Saturday League following promotion, will be first out of the blocks on Tuesday. The first team will train on Wednesday.

Potential new players will be at Wednesday’s session and manager Tim Legg has confirmed that Wiveliscombe-based goalkeeper Tom Welch has told him he wants to remain with the club. They will be followed the next evening by Wellington Reserves, who will again be in action in Division One of the Devon and Exeter League. Sessions for all teams will be taken in groups of six.

Legg said: “What I’m looking for is the mentality and attitude of players. If they want to do well in the Toolstation League I will give them a chance. As far as I’m aware no-one has said they will be leaving. There will be player movement –there always is.”
