WELLINGTON Reserves made it three home wins in eight days – and moved up into second spot – by beating St Martins 2-1 in the Premier Division of the Stitch2Print Devon & Exeter Football League last night (Wed). It was a hard-fought performance as they held firm in a difficult game and came off narrow winners with goals from Jack Bryant and Ben Evett. Wellington are now six points behind leaders Upottery – the sides drew 1-1 last month – with four games to play. The Reserves continue their run of six successive home games on Saturday as they complete the second half of a double header. They host Ottery St Mary 2nds with a 4.15pm kick-off – after the first team have played Shepton Mallet with an early kick-off at 2pm.
