WELLINGTON and Wiveliscombe’s rugby sides both have blank Saturdays this weekend.
It will not please Wellington because they are playing their best rugby of the season but injury-hit Wiveliscombe will welcome the break.
Wivey, who have a two-point lead at the top of Somerset Premier, have key players carrying injuries, including Dan Quick, who could be out for the season, Matt Ellis, Jake Sharland, Alex Westcott, Lee Jeremiah ad George Rowe.
Wellington, on the other hand, have strength in depth and showed good form in beating Withycombe 23-0 away in the Cornwall and Devon League over the weekend.
“They were a good side,” said Wellington coach Allyn Chetland. “They do not lose at home very often.
“I was very pleased. The only disappointment is that we did not get a fifth bonus point.
“But we’re playing some of our best rugby of the season and have only conceded three points in our last three games.”
