WELLINGTON will be looking to avoid another rugby defeat - and it will be difficult - when they play at home to leaders Weston super Mare in Regional Two South West on Saturday, October 18 (3p.m.).
The seasiders have a 100 per cent record after five matches - and have a five-point lead over Winscombe and Tiverton.
Wellington, on the other hand, have lost all five of their games under new head coach Bradley Field - and are bottom of the table with only one point to their credit.
There was a glimmer of hope in their match at Cullompton last Saturday when they scored two tries at the start of the second half but eventually went down 43-26,
Having already conceded 211 points, it looks like being a long and tough season.
Field, who has ruled himself out of the game against Weston with a damaged shoulder, said after the loss against Cullompton: "We had lots of players playing out of position and we made far too many errors.
"We have lost four or five of our best players from last season. We are always going to be struggling because we do not have the personnel. This is the time when players have to show character - it’s tough when you’re losing games. We will also be losing Will Hodgson at Christmas because he is going travelling.”
Meanwhile Wellington 2nd XV, who are also home to their Weston counterparts, have also not won a game in Counties Three Somerset South and are also holding up the table.
Although it is early days yet, both Wellington sides look like being sucked into relegation battles.
Meanwhile Wiveliscombe, up to second in Counties One Western West, play at home to fourth-placed St Ives (3p.m.), while the seconds are away to North Petherton Seconds in Counties Three Somerset South.
