WELLINGTON Rugby Club Colts’ players Jonah Richardson, Ashton Adams and Olly Owen all played for Bristol Bears U17s against Exeter Chiefs in their most recent game.

The Bears recorded a superb 72 to 26 victory with Jonah getting his name on the scoresheet with a try. According to reports all three played well but sadly Ashton will miss the next couple of games with a minor injury.

All three boys have played for Wellington Minis and Juniors for a number of years with Jonah and Ashy playing since they were members of the U6s squad.

They are three of 13 Wellington players currently in the Bears academy system. Brock Vallance is also in the U17s, meaning the Wellington club have four in the squad of 35 which for a club ot its size is fantastic.

The Wellington club also have Alex Acton and Theo Pengelly in the U16s. Alex recently captained the Bears in a match against Gloucester. Then in the U15s Wellington currently have seven players in Freddie, Devon, James, Jacob, Jack, Fred and Henry.

This just shows the quality of the set up in the Minis and Juniors at Wellington Rugby Club. If your son or daughter is keen to try rugby or is already playing then feel free to bring them along.

The Wellington club are always seeking new players of all abilities. It will work hard to develop future Premiership players and also to develop every player and get every player enjoying their rugby and playing to their full potential.

The Wellington club is also fielding a Colts’ side again this season and numbers have grown to more than 20 as they season has gone on, with the side playing some great rugby.
