WITH the brighter weather returning, Wellington Tennis Club is gearing up for the new season both for competitive and more casual play.

The club is also fielding three teams in the West Somerset Tennis League which get underway in April with the ladies fielding teams in Division One and Division Three, while the men are in Division Two and will be captained by Connor Sellick who will also played for the Mixed A side.

He’s quickly made his mark by organising a Friday evening men's session which is proving popular and motivating others.

Connor was awarded the 'Most Improved Player' cup in 2025 by chairman Sue Rackley, who said: “Connor's return to tennis has been fantastic for the club. His enthusiastic personality is contagious and he's so keen to improve he is now entering local LTA men's tournaments. By playing strong players your tennis will improve and its paid off for him."
