WELLINGTON continue their build-up to the new football season with a friendly away to Axminster Town tomorrow evening (Tues).

Wellington took a small squad of 13 players to Bovey Tracey on Saturday where they gained a 3-3 draw with goals by Tom Burt (2) and Rohan Poulsom, last season's top scorer in the Reserves.

Wellington's new assistant player-manager Jack Porter said: "It was a good workout with new boys James Cotterell and Kieran Ireland looking good in the centre of midfield.

"These games give us a chance to take a look a players who we would not normally see."

Wellington have another warm-up game at Bishops Lydeard on Friday evening.

Porter will be working alongside Richard Cherry who was appointed manager last month, taking over from Tim Legg and Alex Pope who has joined Tiverton Town as chief coach.
