A BELOW strength Wellington Under 18s went down 6-0 away to Bishops Lydeard yesterday evening (Tues), conceding all six goals in the second half.

Lydeard, who play in a higher division than Wellington, took advantage of some injuries suffered by Wellington after the interval.

“We were without four or five of our best players,” said assistant manager Andy Govier. “We’re hoping to arrange another friendly next week but it is difficult because we cannot play at home. There are not enough pitches in Wellington.”

Wellington’s opening match in South Division of the Western Counties Floodlit Youth League is away to Frome Town on Wednesday, September 13.

Wellington are being managed again by Joe Conway.
