WELLINGTON Pétanque Club have won the title in the Devon League for the second successive year.
Wellington reached the final play-offs after playing six rounds over the summer against each team in their division and the finals took place on a chilly day at ISCA, Exeter.
After beating Plymouth Pétanque in the semi-final Wellington met ISCA in the final, keen to avenge their defeat in the recent Triples Invitational.
In some tightly contested matches Richard Brickles took the singles 13–12. Geoff Sully, Barry Ede and Eddie Gozna were defeated 7–13 in the Triples and in the Doubles, Richard and Barry won 13 - 12 and Eddie and Geoff won 13 - 11.
The trophy was presented by Ann Barton, Secretary of the Devon Pétanque League.
The Wellington club plays all year at their terrain at Wellington Basins and is keen to introduce new players to the game. Check out their website www.wellingtonpetanque.co.uk.
