WELLINGTON’S soccer boss Tim Legg rates tomorrow’s opponents at the Playing Field Mousehole as the ‘best footballing team’ in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League (3p.m.), writes Barry Knott.

“It will be a fantastic test for us,” said Legg whose side beat Millbrook 2-0 at home last weekend. He described it as ‘one of our most complete performances of the season’. “We showed the consistent mentality we have been striving for in our performances and it was pleasing to see it come together,” he said.

Wellington have taken a maximum six points from their last two home matches, the other being a 3-1 victory over Cadbury Heath a fortnight ago. However, they remain 14th in the table and it is difficult to see them finishing any higher this season. Mousehole, on the other hand, are second, four points off the leaders, both sides having played the same number of games.

Wellington end their season with away games against Ilfracombe Town (Easter Friday) and Helston (Easter Monday).

Wellington Reserves, who are set to play Chard at home in the first division of the Devon and Exeter League next Wednesday night, have no match over the weekend.

Wellington A will be looking to complete the season’s double over Wyvern when they play away to the Taunton side in Division One of the Saturday League tomorrow.

Wellington Reds play Exmoor Rangers in the Saturday League’s Gardner Cup at The Castle Sports Centre tonight (Fri) (8p.m.).
