Care home wins award
WELLINGTON’s Chelston Park Nursing and Residential Home has been awarded the Gold Standards Framework Platinum Award for the fourth time in a row.
The Gold Standard Framework’s mission statement is to “deliver training and support that brings about individual and organisational transformation, enabling a ‘gold standard’ of care for all people nearing the end of life.”
The home works closely with residents, their relatives, and other healthcare professionals to provide the highest possible care for all residents and their families.
The GSF assessor was especially interested in how activities are coordinated in consultation with our physiotherapist.
Working in this way, Chelston’s activities team engage and motivate people by focusing on what is important to them and their families—and help optimise a resident’s ability to enjoy life.
Coming out of the pandemic and where nursing homes continue to be busy with extra infection control measures, the home said “it is a testament to all our staff that we have maintained this level of care and support.”
