BUSINESSES are being helped with a Government grant to reduce their carbon emissions and save money on energy costs as the next phase of a support scheme is rolled out across Somerset.
Somerset Green Business Grant, which offers small and medium size businesses practical help and financial support to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions, is being administered by Somerset Council.
It makes grants of £2,000 to £15,000 for which match-funding has to be found by applicants.
The unitary council is working with net zero specialist consultancy Balanced Energy to back up any grants with practical advice and support.
Cllr Mike Rigby said: “This is a ‘win-win’ leading to lower carbon footprints while reducing outgoings.”
