Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

It also said a band of heavy rain would move eastwards across the area during Thursday which could also lead to some disruption.

The Yellow alert warns people they should plan ahead for possible travel delays or the disruption of their day to day activities and keep an eye on the latest weather forecast.

Travel Somerset said drivers should also beware temperatures dropping below freezing at night with standing water still around resulting in potential for ice on road surfaces.
