Taunton Deane MP Rebecca Pow dubbed the team at Wellington-based MK Test Systems ‘brilliant’ when she visited to tour the facilities.

The business designs and builds systems for testing the electrical wiring of planes, trains and other vehicles for global manufacturers such as Boeing and Airbus.

Ms Pow was invited to MK Test Systems’ headquarters at Chelston to see some of its products and hear about its links to local schools and colleges as part of its employment and training strategy.

Ms Pow said: “The visit has been a revelation. I’m proud that a technology firm with this global reach is based and thriving in Taunton Deane. Businesses supporting the growing renewable energy sector are vital, and the fast expansion of this business demonstrates the potential in the sector for growth and job creation.”

A spokesman for the company said: “MK Test Systems aims to establish itself in the developing electric vehicle and wind turbine markets, and has its sights firmly set to the future. We were pleased to demonstrate the team’s knowledge and capabilities to their local MP.”
