THE Royal British Legion Wiveliscombe branch, Wiveliscombe Guides, Scouts, Cubs, Brownies, Beavers and Rainbow Group joined together in a Field of Remembrance Parade in memory of the fallen on Sunday.

Sir Christopher Airy KCVO CBE, president of the RBL Wiveliscombe branch, commanded the parade.

Standard bearer Steven Wort led the parade with escorts Jan Setterington and Paul Garland

They were followed by the RBL committee led by chairman Mike Morin and a good contingent of members.

In the church the service conducted by Rev David Widdows was based on the impact of the Great War on children in Wiveliscombe . Wiveliscombe Town Band supported the service.

Evelyn Cheery and Joseph Vyvyan-Jones read poems and the president gave a sermon based on the Battle of the Somme. Charles Donald played the Last Post and Reveille.

The chairman of the RBL Wiveliscombe branch, Major (Retd) Mike Morin, would like to thank Wiveliscombe Town Band and the Rotary Club for their support on Remembrance Sunday. He would also like to thank the organisers and young people in the community who gave their time and commitment by participating in the Field of Remembrance.
