Council chief executive Dave Farrow said if successful, it could secure about £50,000 per year for three years to strengthen community resilience and support local delivery.
Mr Farrow said the invitation also reflected the council’s wider partnership work taking place across the town.
He said the community committee on July 20 would consider a proposed approach, how the funding would complement existing initiatives, and outcomes the council would look to achieve.
