WELLINGTON Bowling Club's A, B and C teams all played brilliantly to win all their most recent matches.
Wellington B were home to Taunton Vivary C, while the A team played Ilminster A away. Wellington's C were away to Victoria Park C and, of the three, they had the most comprehensive victory.
Ron Elston, Lynda Manning and skip Andrew Baird played well and won comfortably 27 – 11. Will Smith, Shirley Samuel and skip Ken Brown managed an even bigger win, 31 shots to Victoria Park's 10 while Ernie Windsor, Allan Samuel and skip Clive Manning finished off the winning run 21 – 19.
Three wins out of three for Wellington and an overall victory of 79 – 40.
Wellington B teams had a more difficult task at home to a strong Taunton Vivary C side. On the first rink Steve Lovell, Eddie Dilley and skip Henry Richbell were close on the heels of the Taunton outfit but missed out by two shots, eventually losing 18 – 16.
Mark Bond, Bill Warnett and skip David Beaudet did all they could but went down 17 – 9. June Anderson, Alan May and skip Ian Hollingsworth pulled out all the stops by winning 23 – 11 which gave Wellington an an overall victory by 48 shots to 46.
The A teams were away to Ilminster A, who are always a tough club to beat. Darren Sparks, Gill Groves and skip Nick Channon played well but lost 16 – 28. Julian Street, Christine Willcocks and skip Paul Kelly were 21 – 15 down with three to play but they picked up six shots to make a draw of it , 21 – 21.
Everything depended on Mike Copping, Mike Groves and skip Tony Gibson who came up trumps by winning 26 – 9 and taking an overall victory, 63 - 58.
