THERE were three mixed friendly games played this week between Wellington and Taunton Bowling Clubs.

The Taunton club has three indoor rinks so it was possible to play all three games at the same time.

Wendy Scott, Ken Foweraker and Skip Angie Moore's Wellington team had a tough job on their hands against a strong Taunton side skipped by Alec Berry but they set off at a good pace and led 6-4 after seven ends.

Alec's team got down to some serious bowling and overtook to lead by 11 shots to 7 after 10 ends.

Angie Moore got behind her Wellington bowlers and they came back hard to steal it on the line 19-15.

On the next rink Janet Lovell, Alan Moore and Skip Dave Bridger put up a good fight for the Wellingtonians but the Taunton trio was too good and pinched it 18-14.

All the pressure was on the last game. Wellington's Pat Bridger, (Captain of the Day) Janet Moore and Skip Steve Lovell pulled out all the stops against a very strong Taunton team but couldn't quite keep up so lost their match 23-14.
