VINCE Milton hit his second unbeaten ton in succession as Sampford Arundel beat Cutcombe to maintain their position at the top of the third division in the West Somerset League.

Milton followed up his 103 not out against Fitzhead with another 102 not out as Sampford beat Cutcombe by six wickets after the home side had made 204 all out. 

Mark Maatravers scored 73 not out for Cutcombe while Will Crossley took 4-35 for Sampford and Ed Crossley 3-62 and Steve Butler 2-43.

Jim Fewings also hit 46 for Sampford who timed their response to perfection, scoring the winning runs in the 38th over.

Sampford Have a ten-point lead over second placed Stogumber who did not play, both sides having now played the same number of games. 

Fitzhead bounced back from their loss to Sampford by beating Cannington by 31 runs. Rob Morrish top scored with 43 for Fitzhead who were all out for 101 in 33.5 overs. Stephen King took 5-26 and Nick Eaton and Dave Hoveman picked up two wickets.

Cannington batted poorly and were all out for 70 with Eaton (20 not out) and King (10) managing to get into double figures against the bowling of Neil Mullins (5-2), Graham Miller (2-23) and Ryan Mullins (2-11).
