AS with the 1st XI's home match, Wellington's two games scheduled for the last weekend of the 2026 season in the Somerset League were both called off, writes David Derrick.

The 2nd XI's Division One visit to Wells and Horrington and the 3rd XI's trip to Trull 2nd XI in Division Seven South were both wiped out by heavy rain.

It has been a tough season for the club's second string following a series of successive promotions, but effort was always present despite the tough opposition they were up against and will return to Division Two for the 2027 refreshed and ready to go again.

The 3rd XI was once more the place where entry into the club's senior section took place for young players who were ready to step up from the junior section and where more senior players wished to continue their time playing. A fourth position, just over thirty points behind second place, was a decent return.
