WELLINGTON side Moortown St Malachy’s have maintained their five-point lead at the top of the second division in the Somerset Sunday Football League - without kicking a ball.

They were due to play at home to Williton on Sunday, October 18, but the West Somerset side pulled out of the game because they could not raise a side.

It means they are awarded three points and stay clear of unbeaten Butlins FC who beat Spartans 5-1 away and have a game in hand on Moortown.

Meanwhile, Moortown have no match on Sunday, October 25, and are not back in action until the following weekend when they play away to Watchet Town Blue Waves who are lying tenth with only one win in six games.

Fixtures for Sunday, October 25, Jim Jowett Cup: Carrs Crusaders v Butlins FC, Hinton St George v Spartans, Strong Mentality v Cotford Rovers.

Somerset Sunday Challenge Cup: Highbridge Warriors v Combe Down, PSV v Northwalls United.
