WELLINGTON Reserves slipped back to third in the table after being held to a goalless draw by Ottery St Mary Reserves in the Premier Division of the Devon & Exeter Football League at home in tricky conditions on Saturday, April 11.

Despite having most of the possession and playing well, they could not find the back of the net and eventually dropped two points against a side in 11th place in the division.

Sidmouth Town Reserves produced the performance of the day to beat high-flying Winkleigh 6-1 at home and move above the Reserves on goal difference.

It meant the seasiders moved up to within five points of leaders Upottery - with two crucial games in hand.

Winkleigh’s big defeat left them five points behind Wellington but with three matches in hand, on the same number of points as East Budleigh in fifth spot.

The Reserves’ Player of the Match was Sam Poole.
