WELLINGON Reserves should collect three points when they play at home to bottom side Dawlish United in the first division of the Devon and Exeter League this afternoon (Sat, 3.00).

The game goes ahead following a pitch inspection at 10.30 a.m. today.

Wellington are lying third in the table but have played more games than teams around them. It will be Wellington’s first match in three weeks and they will be looking to maintain their winning run.

Wellington’s chairman Mike Hall was surprised by the state of the pitch.

He said: “The groundsman has been working hard on it recently and it is paying off. We made our decision this morning with Monday’s first team game in mind. The pitch is looking good considering all the rain we’ve had.”

The first team game against Street on Monday kicks off at 1p.m.
