WOODPECKERS are the new leaders of the Wellington Bowling Club's Mixed Triples League.

In their latest match Woodpeckers, led by the experienced Nick Channon, knocked Skylarks off the top of the table with a 16-7 victory.

It was all uphill for Skylarks who at one stage trailed 9-0 before mounting a fightback.
